NEA Baptist Center for Good Grief Announces Tuga’s Project/ April 10, 2019
NEA Baptist Center for Good Grief announces Tuga’s Project, set to begin on May 1st and run through May 31st, 2019. Tuga’s Project is a fundraiser for the NEA Baptist Center for Good Grief. Several local businesses have partnered with the center to bring awareness and funding for the center’s growing needs as they continue to provide free grief counseling services to those in our community.
Local businesses who are participating in Tuga’s Project include: KFC / Taco Bell, NEA Baptist Clinics, Woodsprings Pharmacy’s (Hilltop, Bono, Woodsprings, and Food Giant in Harrisburg), Truck Patch, Firehouse Subs, San Francisco Bread Company, Honey Baked Ham, Shadrach’s Coffee, Nutrition Hub, Health Wear, and Interstate Battery.
The public is encouraged to stop by one of these convenient locations and donate one dollar. One hundred percent of the money raised will be used to fund counseling services at the Grief Center. It costs $25,000 per month to keep the center operating and the goal is to raise enough money to fully support the center for one entire month.
Tuga, the Center for Good Greif’s stuffed creature, was created by the Greif Center staff for kids and teens who participate in the center’s services. The word Tuga means “grief, deep sorrow” in Croatian. Tuga is the perfect sized stuffed creature to hold as someone is grieving and mourning the loss of a loved one.

The NEA Baptist Center for Good Grief is located at 1717 Executive Square in Jonesboro and offers free grief counseling and seminars to those who have lost a loved one. Counseling is available to children, teens and adults through individual, family and group sessions. Since the center’s opening in October of 2017, over 250 people have been served. Grief is not a billable diagnosis. There is no charge, no insurance, and no questions about income when you contact the Center for Good Grief. All services are free to the community, regardless of where they receive healthcare, and is made possible by the NEA Baptist Charitable Foundation.
