NEA Baptist Health Talk Presents: Finding the Good in Grief
A New Community Resource
Jonesboro, Ark., June 7, 2017 – Earlier this year, NEA Baptist announced a new community resource – the NEA Baptist Center for Good Grief, which is slated to open October 2017. On Wednesday, June 14, 2017, Angela Hamblen Kelly, executive director of bereavement services for Baptist Memorial Health Care, will be the highlighted speaker at the quarterly NEA Baptist Health Talk Series: Finding the Good in Grief.
Kelly stated, “We believe that if people can work on their grief and if they have the opportunity to express and learn to cope with those feelings, much like physical health, it can be a good thing. A loss changes us forever, but if supported, it can help to shape a person’s life for the good and that is why we chose the name Good Grief.”
Attendees will learn more about the first comprehensive grief center of its kind in northeast Arkansas that will provide support for individuals who are grieving the death of a loved one. Information will include details about the center including staff, services offered and much more.
The doors will open at 11:30 am, allowing participants time to browse booths with educational resources. The program, including lunch, will begin at 12 pm. There will be a question and answer session following the presentation. The luncheon will be held at Southwest Church of Christ, 1601 James Street, Jonesboro.

The NEA Baptist Center for Good Grief will open October 2017 at 1717 Executive Square in Jonesboro and will offer free grief counseling and seminars to those who have lost a loved one. Counseling will be available to children, teens and adults through individual, family and group sessions. All services will be free to the community, regardless of where they receive healthcare, through the NEA Baptist Charitable Foundation.
