NEA Baptist Health Talk Presents: Finding the Good in Grief

A New Community Resource

Jonesboro, Ark., June 7, 2017 – Earlier this year, NEA Baptist announced a new community resource – the NEA Baptist Center for Good Grief, which is slated to open October 2017. On Wednesday, June 14, 2017, Angela Hamblen Kelly, executive director of bereavement services for Baptist Memorial Health Care, will be the highlighted speaker at the quarterly NEA Baptist Health Talk Series: Finding the Good in Grief.

Kelly stated, “We believe that if people can work on their grief and if they have the opportunity to express and learn to cope with those feelings, much like physical health, it can be a good thing. A loss changes us forever, but if supported, it can help to shape a person’s life for the good and that is why we chose the name Good Grief.”

Attendees will learn more about the first comprehensive grief center of its kind in northeast Arkansas that will provide support for individuals who are grieving the death of a loved one. Information will include details about the center including staff, services offered and much more.

The doors will open at 11:30 am, allowing participants time to browse booths with educational resources. The program, including lunch, will begin at 12 pm. There will be a question and answer session following the presentation. The luncheon will be held at Southwest Church of Christ, 1601 James Street, Jonesboro.

Tickets for the luncheon are complimentary but required for entry. They can be picked up at the NEA Baptist Clinic Wellness Center, located at 2617 Phillips Drive, NEA Baptist Clinic lobby located at 4802 E. Johnson, or reserved online at: https://healthtalk-grief.eventbrite.com.

Tickets are limited and given out first come, first serve. For more information, call 870-936-8000.
