About
The specialty of general surgery focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of surgical diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid, breast, gastrointestinal tract, and hernia. The gallbladder, appendix, esophagus, stomach, spleen, intestines and hemorrhoids are all in the expertise of general surgery. Bariatric (weight loss) surgery, upper and lower GI endoscopies, and endoscopic surgery are all included in our general surgery practice as well.

- diagnosis and management of benign and malignant breast conditions
- diseases occurring in the abdomen
- vascular access
- thyroid disease
- excision of skin lesions for benign and malignant processes
- parathyroid disease
- hernias, all types
- GI endoscopy
- Minimally invasive surgery
When appropriate, minor surgical procedures are performed in the office. Elective surgery and in-patient care is provided at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. Less invasive techniques, such as laparoscopy are used when appropriate, enabling a quicker recovery and return to normal activity.
Emergency services for abdominal conditions are provided at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. A physician can be reached 24 hours a day for problems or emergencies. A registered nurse (RN) works with the doctors, assisting them in delivering the best quality care in a compassionate manner to all our patients.
